The Carrollton Lions Club of 26-M4 is celebrating an amazing milestone, 100 years of service in Lionism! Although their official charter date is May 4th, the birthday bash will be held May 11th. Carrollton has a rich history - anchored by being one of the first 13 clubs chartered in Missouri, when Lions was just 5 years old! Since then, Carrollton has stayed active and vibrant and is a shining example of perseverance. They are a lone reed, standing tall, waving boldly, in the trying sands of the 21st century. The Lions of Carrollton are heavily involved in their community in many, many different ways, including but not limited to: sponsoring kids to attend Missouri Boys State, actively involved in Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, selling funnel cakes to support Carrollton's Band Day, selling funnel cakes for Carrolton's Wine & Beer Walkabout, and many, many more very, very wonderful events. The Carrollton Lions also get involved with events outside their community, like supporting Pearl Harbor Day and taking a trip to visit the Norborne Lions to hear a presentation on a man who got a guide dog from LeaderDog, plus many, many more events. As you can probably deduce, Carrollton is an excellent club that we don't hear from that often, but they do their jobs and then find more jobs to help with. Join me in wishing Carrollton a happy birthday, a job well done for 100 years, and supporting them in the next 100! Congradulations Carrollton Lions, you ROCK!
