From Albany to Weston, the Lions Clubs in the district are a major source of encouragement to students. Through various fundraisers - pancakes, basketball games, etc - funds are raised and distributed to help them towards their dreams.
Some clubs, such as the ones in St. Joseph, annually hold a luncheon to honor students in the top 10% of their class regardless of whether they receive a scholarship or not. It is a way of honoring the hard work and dedication those students have demonstrated to achieve that status. One key speaker admonished the students to 10 be a roll model to all - family, friends, classmates, etc and 20 remember, the best is yet to come.
Whether a club has a few dollars to spend or thousands, the youth of our district are important to the future. The Lions want to do what they can to help those students in their next steps toward their exciting future.
